Finally, I have moved my blog to a new domain (itrapt.com obviously!). Hopefully, this can be swiftly indexed by search engines like Google to reach people. I have been planning to move to a new domain a few months back but decided against it because I thought that it would be to troublesome. Fortunately, I was wrong (sometimes, I just love being wrong).
Here’s a bit of history. I have set up a WordPress blog for a client on a production server. When everything was in order and the client approved the design, I didn’t think twice about moving the site to its permanent domain. I didn’t make any backup of the files and database. After uploading all the files and importing the database, I got a warning that I need to upgrade my database. Poof! It was like magic. All my pages became posts and the layout broke. In short, I had to redo everything. This was the main reason that I was adamant about moving my blog.
For those of you who wants to move your blog to a new domain or folder, you can visit WordPress’ page about moving WordPress. This served as my sole guide which proved to be very effective.
